Masguf in Damascus

Masguf, is a traditional  dish, consisting of seasoned, grilled carp. It is national dish of Iraq. I had a rare chance to taste it in Iraqi restaurant close to Damascus, Syria at 2011. The cooking took around three hours  until most of the fish’s fat is burnt out. During that time we had lot of mezes. It was unforgettable evening. I took some pictures of the way which they prepared Masguf.
